Little late, but better than never. I spent the day before Easter with my mini witch in training dying easter eggs. I decided to get a little more creative with my eggs this year instead of using the tradional pastels, making circles or stripes. What if I had a halloween inspired easter!
So, I made an orange one into a pumpkin, a green egg into zombie, a purple egg into skeleton (seen above), and a midnight blue one into bat (seen above). I thought I did such a fabulous job, but after taking them out of the dye I noticed the clear wax crayons were not-so fabulous. Next year, maybe I will dye them first, then use some inexpensive craft acrylic paint to them.
Last, but not least on Mothers Day I received a real Bucky! Not a blucky! My very first BUCKY!!!!! Not sure that I will wind up corpsing him, think I will keep him just the way he is. As for right now I find him sitting against the wall or in a corner of about every room in the haunted mansion. It's quite funny not sure how he's getting around, but he does.
Only, 160 days till Halloween my happy haunters!

Motel Hell ~ Room 101
101 days till Halloween, 63 days till set up!
Time is coming near and it's starting to freak me out a bit. I have a lot on my plate for the next coming weeks up and through October. I did get to finish my corpsing and started on a new project (shown below). I also made a fog chiller out of items already in my garage! Next going to work on the peppers ghost. As well as re-vamping some of the store bought ground breakers.
This is me here with the last corpsed blucky!

This is a project I'm currently working on. He will be painted and attached to some sort of body. I will share my step by step instructions within the next week or two.

Last but not least, pumpkins are growing well, no actual pumpkins yet, flowers are there and they are just lush as all hell! My loving werewolf, Tim is also getting into spirit and is making a two headed skeleton 4 legged spider thing. It's massive! Not for halloween though, but just another oddity to add to the house.
I can't smell halloween in the air just yet, but damn it there are scarecrows and pumpkins on the shelves at the store already!
Love,
the madame

Corpsing is fun!!!
So thanks to some online haunters who have shared their talent. I have turned some of my plain ol blucky's into yummy fresh corpses. I started out with a blucky, because I would rather spend under $10 than $100 for a skeleton. I have purchased some of these from Big Lots, but actually got a few from the garage sales I went to. I went to home depot and picked up the carpet adhesive, two cans of wood stain. Already had latex gloves, toilet paper, drop cloth and a brush handy for the wood stain.
I give this guy credit for the wood stain color - http://www.theghostess.com/bluckycorpse.htm
You can truly get lost in the web searching for things, and come to realize there are so many people like myself. Even though I stole an idea or two from this guy and that gal, this was my personal technique. PS: I used a dremel instead of the box cutter because, people that shit is just plain ol dangerous!!!!
1. I cut out the eyes, nose mouth, around the rib cage area and bones.
2. I spray painted (flat black) inside the ribs and skull.
3. After the paint dried, I applied some cheese cloth around the eyes and nose.
4. Went to town with gloves on hands, and used the carpet adhesive spreading it all around the skeleton. I did one side at a time because it's very tacky/sticky.
5. Applied toilet paper to the carpet adhesive. Just play around with it.
6. Step 4 & 5 repeat after 1st application dries - process took almost a week.
7. When he's all dried up then take the wood stain. I used the lighter color first and the darker one to accent areas. Dabbing the excess with a paper towel.
8. Tim and I were totally grossed out and in awww at this point!!!
9. Just wait till he dries. ;)
Right now I'm trying to make my blucky into a ground breaker and mount him so he stays put. Still working on that but he's almost finished.
There are some other items I've been working on corpsing that were some odd treasures from the craigslist ads I came across that I'm working on. To me they looked a bit corny so I had to alter them to make it more gruesome.

You can catch me in a dark alley
Sorry for the delay, but the madame has been busy these past few weeks... just got back from Miamispooktatic, Florida for a super vampy photo shoot with Miss Janette Valentine of http://www.terriblygirly.com/. Photos coming soon!
Of course I have been still stirring my cauldron and brewing up my projects...
I have officially started on the fence to my graveyard. Super easy project. After I paint it I will post up details and pictures.
My mother came to town to watch those beefcakes otherwise known as the Miami, Dolphins. I think my mom and I should have casted a spell over the Falcons because they winded up winning. :( By the way my mother is a witch too. She is the one who gave me the gift of the "cackle". Well, she and I took our brooms and hit some garage sales... got a few good things like witch hats and old costumes, which will be great on some of those mannequin heads. - By the way I have decided to just use scary masks for now.
I have also started playing around with the jars. I made a few more while she was here. In the meantime here are several other witch potion jars I made up... I will make labels for them after I finish the handful I have left to do at the castle.
Ok so here we go! First take a gander at your fridge and clean out some of those old jars that have one pickle left in it or in my case 3 jars with 2 pepperoncinis in it. Fill the sink with water and let them soak. The labels will come right off. Stick those jars in your dishwasher. Take the lids outside with some newspaper and spray paint the tops black (I did mine with flat black).
After that is all taken care of fill these jars with whatever you've got, have fun with it and of course creative. They sell all kinds of little cute things for a dollar at Target and of course the Dollar Tree to fill these jars up. You might even have some old broken halloween items at home and/or if you have boys... go through their toy boxes, your bound to find something in there.
The first one I used a plastic bat, dirt from the bottom of the moss bag, water, cheesecloth for the top with some of that dry stuff and wrap it around (fog bat, I forget the name right now). I dressed the top of it with a little skeleton hand.
The second one I made was with some skull heads I got at the dollar store. Added some moss, with a little bit of water. Again, I added cheesecloth and wrapped it with that stuff and dressed the top with a skeleton hand.
The third one not shown here, was made with a bunch of eyes, and the forth was made with body parts (ear, tongue, finger, toes). The one with the body parts I put some red dye in there that was made with an oil base. Really cool cause when it hit the water the red dye stayed and is like red beads. Super neat effect. I'll add those pictures soon.
39 days till Samhain....
